The process is a long journey; trust me it is. It can be difficult to follow through with the process if one lacks patience. Yesterday, I cried bitterly. Adulting is burdensome and at the same time blissful. It is hard to manage—embracing it one minute, breaking down the next. In moments as such, you may become inclined to quicker results. This is my story as a writer.

– I want to create engaging content every day, but it does not happen due to writer’s block. A part of me feels dejection.

– Inconsistency is another antagonist in my story that I have been in combat with. Thankfully, I have been improving.

The process of reaching a peak point will have thorns on the way. These thorns can cause people to fail, quit, procrastinate, or even forge ahead. Someone who has been applying for jobs and yet keeps receiving rejections is going through a process. If the individual is resilient enough, they march on. Unfortunately, a reverse of the supposed will never lead to a result. Another person, who’s been trying for a scholarship to a university is also liable for a rejection.

Steps to going through the process and receiving benefiting results.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in, day out — Robert Collier.

The key to success is consistency. And right now, the only way for you to actually take action is to believe in yourself — Zark Frazer.

Through perseverance many people win success out of what seemed destined to be certain failure — Benjamin Disraeli

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air — John Quincy Adams.

People like consistency whether it’s a store or a restaurant, they want to come in and see what you are famous for — Milliard Drexler.

What are you famous for?

Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody — Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

To sum up these quotes you must realize that consistency is the parent of motivation. I mentioned earlier my inconsistency, identifying your weaknesses is another way to achieve results.

Discipline is synonymous with consistency. Enforcing self-control will yield results. Where do we need to exercise self-control? It could range from a reduction of screen time on social media and movies to discovering the hours you function most. You might be a morning person (which means you function well in the early hours of the day) or a night owl. Seize that best time and make the best use of it. For me, I freeze my social media apps when I want full maximum concentration.

One might ask; what if your job entails using social media, how do I maximize my time? The answer is simple. Set an outline, and follow it to the letter. Observe breaks but not ones that will veer you from the assigned task. As soon as you have completed your work you can very well get on your rest mode( surfing the internet endlessly might be that rest mode), it wouldn’t matter anymore. It is easy to be distracted once there is nothing that puts you in check to focus.

Faith: Believe in yourself. Self is the first person you must trust. You cannot proceed if you don’t believe in your process. Remember, before results are visible, there has to be a lot of faith put in the steps that lead to it. Take for example: you have been assigned to solve a puzzle- will you consent to that offer if there is a lack of faith?

Prayer: Prayer is the key to not just mere achievements but phenomenal ones. Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer. Therefore, prayer is the master key. Philippians 4:6 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Gratitude! Gratitude! Gratitude!

How often do you retrospect on your growth and genuinely congratulate God, yourself, and even people who have shaped your progress all through from the low place to where you are now? There is an inch of growth for some, and massive growth for others. Despite what you are attaining to be, we should show gratitude. A grateful person receives more.

Gratitude is a form of self-reflection of how far you have come. It is in this process you realize your lapses, and strengths, and learn better directions to grow in. Another benefit of being thankful is the positive effects on our emotional health. According to Robert A. Emmons, a psychologist who sought to understand how people benefit from gratitude, gratitude may improve psychological well-being.

Numerous studies have found that gratitude can have positive effects on interpersonal and romantic relationships.

‘Gratitude heals, energizes, and changes lives,’ Dr Emmons emphasized. “It is the prism through which we view life in terms of gifts, givers, goodness, and grace.”

It reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety, increasing self-esteem and satisfaction with daily life.

Gratitude bonds relationships with friends, family, and romantic partners.

For an observer watching, an act of gratitude brings warmth and affinity.

Gratitude seems to be the gift that keeps giving — Dr Algue.

Did you know?

Gratitude provides us with an optimistic outlook on life, instead of one filled with despair. Journaling one thing we are thankful for each day increases our joy and life span. Taking a moment to thank a colleague or a boss for their efforts puts a smile on their faces and strengthens your relationship with them. Being grateful at your workplace helps one find mentors and leads us a step closer to reaching and achieving our career goals.

I conclude with these words: you must acknowledge the process to enable the results.
